I sped along with the flow of the rushing water of the Holy ganges. I screamed in ecstasy and delight. This is the first time I canoed in my life!
Atali Ganga is a resort located about thirty minutes from the city centre on the highway to Badrinath. It is perched on a low-rising cliff next to the riverbank of the Ganges. This place offers a spectacular view of the distant hills and the Ganges flowing in a valley below.
Atali Ganga itself arranges white water rafting, canoeing and many more activities. It uses a section of the riverbank of the pristine Ganges which is about a kilometer away from the resort. A car will take us there and we can canoe, swim, build sandcastles, collect pebbles and white- water raft. The people also take hot tea, coffee and biscuits. One can take a dip in the freezing cold water. White water rafting is only allowed for kids above the age of twelve but kids below that age can take a short canoe ride. You can carry some holy water from the Ganges home.
Once done with all the activities, one can splash down into the swimming pool or rock-climb. Once you step out of the pool, snacks will be ready for you in the snack area where you can spend the rest of the day. There is an outdoor snack area where you can stargaze and eat snacks such as popcorn and barbecue and roasted peanuts. Atali Ganga has a telescope so kids can see craters on the moon and stars. One can relax in the cozy glass walled library and look at the scenery outside, read or write.
